What I Know For Sure…
I know these are challenging times.
I know there’s a lot of uncertainty and unknown ahead of us.
I know it can be scary and frightening.
I know it can be difficult to be stuck at home, not sure how your days will go, how you will make a living…
I know that life will never be the same again.
But I also know that we will come out of this stronger and better.
I know that once it’s over we’ll tell stories and anecdotes about our time in quarantine.
I know we will tell about the times spent with our families, how we talked, played, built things, created, sang, danced…
We’ll recount everything we’ve learned, re-learned and un-learned.
I know we will look back and remember the good deeds and acts of kindness of people close and far.
I know we’ll recall how we stepped together, took care of each other and protected the weak.
I know we’ll remember how we learned the “old” ways of working with Nature, not against it.
And I know we’ll better appreciate the simple things, small gestures, little pleasures.
I know we’ll be grateful for the experience, shifting our focus on things that are really important — connections, cooperation, conversations…
I know we’ll teach the next generations about our struggles and share the lessons we learned so they don’t make the same mistakes.
And I know everything is happening FOR us and all will be well and LOVE will conquer all.
With love,
Alenka
